Died in 1894 in Schloss Arco, Tyrol.
Buried firstly with his Queen Maria Sophia of Bavaria in the Church of Spirito Santo dei Napoletani in Rome. In 1984 translated and buried in the Basilica of S. Chiara in Naples.
